Prof Su Rong (Principal Investigator)

Prof Su Rong obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree from University of Science and Technology of China, and Master of Applied Science degree and PhD degree from University of Toronto, respectively. He was affiliated with University of Waterloo and Technical University of Eindhoven before he joined Nanyang Technological University in 2010. Dr Su's research interests include multi-agent systems, discrete-event system theory, model-based fault diagnosis, operation planning and scheduling with applications in flexible manufacturing, intelligent transportation, human-robot interface, power management and green building. In the aforementioned areas he has more than 110 journal and conference publications and 2 patents, and has been involved in several projects sponsored by Singapore National Research Foundation (NRF), Singapore Agency of Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore Ministry of Education (MoE), Singapore Civil Aviation Authority (CAAS) and Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). Prof Su is a senior member of IEEE, and an associate editor for Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control, Journal of Control and Decision, and Journal of Discrete Event Dynamic Systems: Theory and Applications. He is also the Chair of the Technical Committee on Smart Cities in the IEEE Control Systems Society, and a board member of the School of EEE at NTU.

Dr Ma Xiaohe (Research Fellow)

Dr MA Xiaohe received B.S. and M.S. degrees from Hebei University of Technology in 2002 and 2005, respectively and she received Ph.D. degree from Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics in 2009. From 2009 to 2014, She was in charge of technical consultant with Infolytica and JSOL software in Hikey-Sheenray Information Technology Co., Ltd, Shanghai and Product Development Solutions Pte. Ltd, Singapore. Since 2014, She joined Rolls-Royce@NTU Corporate Lab in Singapore and now she is a senior research fellow. Her research interest includes electromagnetic design, analysis and thermal simulation on electrical motor/generators, magnetic valves, transformers, etc.

Mr Wang Shuai (Research Engineer)

Mr Wang Shuai received his B.Eng from school of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2012. He joint Rolls-Royce@NTU Corporate Lab in 2013 as a research associate and worked on the electromagnetic and thermal design of electric machines. His research interests include multiphysics analysis, design and optimization of electric machines.

Mr Anand Prabhu Mathivanan (Research Associate)

Mr Anand Prabhu Mathivanan is a postgraduate in Aerospace engineering with a strong passion towards researching and design engineering. Having been associated with the Rolls-Royce@NTU corporate lab program for the past four years I have had a great deal of exposure to its vision for advancing the future of aerospace technologies. My current research area focus on the engineering analyses of mechanical and thermal design of advanced electrical machines employed in the aircraft gas turbines. 

Mr Loh Jenn Yen (PhD Student)

Mr Loh Jenn Yen received the B.Eng degree in Aerospace Engineering in 2014 from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where he is currently working towards Ph.D. degree in Rolls-Royce@NTU Corporate Lab. His research interests include mechanical and thermal analysis of high performance electrical machines

Mr Yu Yang (PhD Student)

Yu Yang received the B.Eng degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Huazhong Univerisity of Science and Technology in 2013 and the M. Sc. degree in power engineering from Nanyang Technological University in 2014 where he is currently working towards Ph.D. degree in Rolls-Royce@NTU Corporate Lab. His research interests the approximate dynamic programming, integral reinforcement learning and its application to machine drives
